Meter Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meter Specialist to join our team at the City of Baytown. The ideal candidate will have experience in meter installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, and possess strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate meter readings
  • Perform routine inspections
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Install, maintain, and repair water meters and related equipment
  • Identify and report suspected theft of service

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Class D Water Distribution License from TCEQ (obtainable within 2 years)
  • 6 months general work experience
  • 2 years experience in meter maintenance and water system operations (preferred)
