Job Summary

The University of Alabama seeks a highly motivated and experienced Research Psychologist to serve as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Psychology Department. This position provides an opportunity for advanced training and research experience in the field of early cognitive development, with a focus on Down syndrome.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily activities of a federally funded research study investigating early cognitive decline over the late teen to early adult years in Down syndrome.
  • Train and supervise student researchers, recruit participants, and manage data.
  • Participate in assessment team, assist with preparing IRB and NIH progress reports, and contribute to data interpretation and dissemination.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to meet university driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in Down Syndrome research and experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with attention to detail and computer literacy.
  • Scientific writing skills and record of publication.

Benefits:

This is a regular full-time position with benefits, including a salary range of $48,600 - $60,800 (Salaried E7). The normal work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm. The University of Alabama is an Equal Employment Opportunity Institution, committed to diversity and inclusion.
