Sales Clerk PT

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Clerk PT to join our team at the Coast Guard Community Services Command. As a Sales Clerk PT, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining product knowledge, and assisting with the selection of merchandise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers and provide a positive shopping experience
- Maintain product knowledge and assist with merchandise selection
- Provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration and explanation of technical features
- Take periodic stock counts and participate in inventory management
- Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition
- Advise supervisor/department head of customer requests
- Process cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards, and provide accurate change
- Maintain sales records and balance till at the end of each shift
- Perform price changes for various departments, including markdowns and markups, and set up company promotions
- Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention and be aware of shrink and the Alert Line
- Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements
Requirements:
- Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register, as evidenced by high school course work, a GED, or high school diploma
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds, and stand for long periods of time
- Previous retail merchandising experience or cashier experience is preferred
