Lifeguard

Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for members and participants at the YMCA of Memphis & The Mid. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the pool area is free from hazards and that all emergency procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Active surveillance of the pool area
• Respond to emergency situations immediately
• Maintain accurate records as required
• Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available
• Attend all staff meetings and in-service training
• Participate in LRD (Lifeguard Response Drill) as directed
• Assist with various camps and programs as assigned
• Perform various maintenance duties as directed

Requirements:

• Minimum age of 15
• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen
• Current American Red Cross certification or equivalent
• Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness
