Job Summary

This position will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate specialized art courses at Jaycee Park. The employee will supervise and instruct introductory-level students from age 10 to adults and perform other duties as assigned. The instructor will assist all participants equally, according to skill level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and develop art courses for students of various skill levels
  • Supervise and instruct students in a safe and supportive environment
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation and Parks Department
Requirements:
  • A strong background in one or more visual art fields
  • Knowledge of sewing and fiber arts
  • Prior teaching experience, First Aid, and CPR certification are preferred
  • Applicants should have examples of personal artwork available for review
Working Conditions:

Classes are scheduled according to instructor availability and participant demand. Class times must fall within hours of operation: Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am - 8:30 pm, Friday from 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Benefits:
  • As needed for programs that range from 4-8 weeks throughout the year
  • Hours: 2-10 hours per week
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old, at the time of application
