Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care, including recording medical history, physical assessment, developing therapeutic care plans, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, and providing accurate medical record documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate patient care with patients, families, community health services, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare written prescription orders, administer medication and injections, suture wounds, and provide wound care.
  • Educate patients and family members on health and preventive medicine, medications, treatment instructions, and recommend community resources as appropriate.
  • Triage patient telephone calls, provide monitoring, and continuity of care.
  • Participate in performance and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as a clinical expert and resource.
Qualifications
  • MSN from a Master's Program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
  • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Practicing-state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state within 60 days of hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure within 60 days of hire.
  • BLS Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post Master's program, DNP.
