Exciting Opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multimedia Journalist to join our team as a Statewide Political Reporter in Lansing, Michigan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned journalist to cover statewide politics and produce high-quality content for our three Sinclair stations in Michigan.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reporting, enterprise story ideas, and developing contacts at the legislature and other local/state agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report on statewide politics and produce daily content for our three Sinclair stations
  • Develop and enterprise story ideas and pitch them to the news team
  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts at the legislature and other local/state agencies
  • Produce high-quality video and audio content for broadcast and online platforms
  • Work collaboratively with our Lansing-based photographer to produce stories
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in television journalism, preferably in a similar role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
