We are seeking a skilled Transload Technician to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods through our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate schedules for departing loads to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Study incoming load patterns and volumes to estimate load counts.
  • Arrange and oversee the loading and unloading of trailers and trucks.
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork for incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Troubleshoot and expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Comply with all environmental laws and procedures.
  • Report all environmental issues immediately to your supervisor.
  • Read and understand the company's emergency notification process.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read in English.
  • Mathematics - Knowledge of basic math and their applications.
  • Minimal Skid Steer experience a plus.
  • Able to hook and unhook tractor trailer a plus.
  • Verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
