We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Trial Attorney to join our team at Allstate Insurance Company. As an Insurance Defense Trial Attorney, you will play a critical role in defending insurance claims and litigating cases on behalf of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions.
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Interview clients and witnesses, as well as drafting summaries of their statements and maintaining communication records.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- Demonstrates strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.
- Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
- Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.
- Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
