Transportation Laborer

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Laborer to join our team at the Hampden Sydney Area Headquarters. As a key member of our highway maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing manual labor and other maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our transportation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform flagging operations to ensure safe traffic flow
- Assist in setting up work zones to minimize disruptions to traffic
- Perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools, as well as light and medium equipment
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor
- Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read, follow oral and written instructions
- Experience in equipment operation and performing preventive maintenance
- A combination of training, experience, or education in Maintenance, Construction, or related field
- Experience with emergency operations, including snow removal, storms, and accident clean-up
This is a wage position, and as such, is limited to 1,500 hours of work in the twelve-month period. You will be required to work outside normal hours in emergencies and inclement weather. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
