Position Summary

As a Kitchen Sanitation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring a smooth workflow while washing dishes and utensils
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Restocking kitchen supplies and the cooking line as necessary
  • Performing general cleaning duties throughout the restaurant
  • Managing the pace and organization of dishwashing tasks
  • Understanding the operation of the dishwashing machine and its chemical components
  • Following procedures for changing water and chemicals as required
  • Cleaning floors in both back-of-house and front-of-house areas
  • Maintaining clean and dry floors
  • Ensuring plates and small kitchenware are spotless

Key Responsibilities

  1. Complying with all health and safety regulations and company policies
  2. Monitoring food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas to ensure compliance with health standards
  3. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas
  4. Supporting company directives and decisions
  5. Exhibiting teamwork and collaboration during shifts
  6. Ensuring a positive dining experience by monitoring food delivery times
  7. Following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
  8. Keeping kitchen, dish, and storage areas organized
  9. Maintaining equipment cleanliness and reporting any repair needs
  10. Minimizing waste through proper product accounting and recipe adherence
  11. Cross-training in other positions as opportunities arise
  12. Adhering to meal and rest break regulations

Qualifications

  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a full-service restaurant environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • A collaborative team player

Judgment and Decision-Making

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining operational standards
  • Strict adherence to food quality and safety protocols
  • Knowledge of company policies to address restaurant challenges effectively

Personal Attributes

  • Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Frequent interaction with employees at all levels

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Vision abilities including distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral vision

  • Able to work in varying temperature environments
