Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty - Nursing to join our team at Holyoke Community College. The successful candidate will provide quality learning experiences for our nursing students, teaching in clinical and simulation laboratory settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum for nursing students, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and college policies.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in clinical and simulation laboratory settings, promoting critical thinking and sound clinical judgment.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Collaborate with department chairs, faculty, and staff to develop and implement nursing programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our students and the community.
  • Participate in college-wide and departmental orientations, working closely with a department mentor to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Meet and maintain faculty requirements, including licensure, certification, and continuing education.
  • Participate in the systemic evaluation of the program, providing data and analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Maintain confidentiality in college and student matters, adhering to college policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Current unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of five years full-time Registered Nurse experience within the last eight years.
  • Acute-care medical surgical nursing experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate teaching skills in the clinical and/or simulation lab area, including the use of interactive and varied pedagogical strategies.
  • Confident and comfortable with technology-based instruction, including online course work.
  • Commitment to support underrepresented students in nursing.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
