Averitt Express is seeking a CDL-A Dedicated Local Truck Driver to join our team. As a dedicated local driver, you will enjoy consistent customers and a predictable schedule. This role offers a competitive pay package, including an average weekly pay of $1,180 and a starting pay of $29.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods to and from customers
- Pick up containers at customer locations and deliver them to the Savannah Port
- Return empty containers to the Port
- Complete pre-trip inspections and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
- Enter and exit the commercial motor vehicle and trailer
Requirements:
- Class A CDL with TWIC
- Must obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire
- Must also obtain Georgia Port ID
- Must live within a 75-mile radius
- Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
- No serious violations within the previous 12 months
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years
