We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mammography Technologist to join our Breast Imaging Department at UC Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality mammograms, patient history, and preparing paperwork for radiologist interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mammographic and DEXA procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring patient histories and requested services are complete and accurate.
- Prepare images, prior studies, and paperwork, including patient history and location of previous films, and submit completed studies to radiologists for interpretation.
- Maintain accurate records and supplies, and assist with meeting accreditation requirements.
- Participate in continuing education activities related to mammography, obtain and maintain required licensure, and demonstrate skill in providing care for patients of specific age groups.
- Perform evaluative equipment tests and participate in Quality Assurance programs.
- Qualify patients for funding programs, maintain records of results, and track grant funds.
- Track patient results, notify appropriate parties, and ensure proper follow-up for abnormal mammograms.
- Perform Stereotactic breast biopsies, including scheduling, post-procedure follow-up, and tracking results.
- Participate in candidate selection, provide input for annual performance appraisals, and ensure new hires are properly oriented.
- Oversee modality QC/QA, accreditation/regulatory programs, and participate in Performance Improvement activities.
- Establish work goals, maintain a motivational working environment, and assist with resolving issues and problems.
- Provide opportunities for employee development, ensure staffing in the area, and train and develop employees to maintain desired performance standards.
- Associate of Science Degree in Radiology Technology
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology
- Current licensure by the State of Ohio as a Radiographer
- Advanced certification in mammography
- Minimum of 3 years in Mammography
