Job Summary:
Scion Staffing is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our client's team as a Civil Litigation Specialist. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and contribute to the firm's civil litigation practice, attending hearings and representing clients appropriately.
- Oversee negotiations to resolve pending litigations and provide comprehensive review of all conditions precedent to filing of the action.
- Maintain confidentiality and update the status of each file as needed.
- Draft and review various documents, including pleadings and correspondence, to initiate actions and motion practice.
- Manage the practice calendar to monitor progress and develop strategies to bring files to resolution efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all internal systems are updated to include findings, documentation, and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Experienced attorney with direct civil litigation experience at a debt collection firm.
- Currently hold a Bar License in Maryland and Washington DC, with good standing. Bar License in Virginia and/or Pennsylvania is a plus.
- Knowledge of local and state law.
- Ability to travel throughout Maryland and DC to attend assigned hearings.
- Working knowledge of legal databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Polished written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire to contribute to a positive and professional work culture.
- Must have reliable means of transportation to appear in court in Maryland and Washington D.C.

- Competitive salary of $75,000 depending on experience, with a commission plan to make up to $2,000 extra each month.
