Your primary goal will be to increase the efficiency of the maintenance process through the creation of safe and cost-effective job plans while maintaining a monthly budget as assigned by the facility Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Supports Average Productivity: Provide available resources to determine ways to improve goal attainment for the following weeks.
- Communicates with Department Management: Ensure resources are in place to complete a specified average number of work orders as determined by the schedule.
- Executes Plans to Improve Schedule Attainment: Review monthly with the plant manager to ensure goals are met.
- Collaborates with Purchasing Department: Work together on all items in purchasing that affect scheduled work.
- Liaison with Team Members and Schedulers: Ensure work scope and procedure procurement are completed efficiently.
- Operates Maintenance Systems: Proficiently use software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Project, assigned maintenance system, and procurement programs.
- Orders Parts and Materials: Procure necessary items for maintenance and repairs.
- Verifies Drawings and Approval Sign-offs: Ensure in-kind equipment replacement and job completion status are accurate.
- Interacts with Purchasing Department: Collaborate on bid items for material specifications and specific procedures as needed.
- Maintains Field Verification and Dimensional Checks: Verify conformance to specifications for in-kind equipment replacements.
- Identifies Necessary Tools and Materials: Create and complete daily work scopes.
- Ensures Management is Fully Informed: Report any potential shortfalls or problems in daily assignments or plant equipment inspections.
- Forklift Operation and Other Duties: Support and contribute to an efficient maintenance program.
- Plans Facility Outage Work Steps: Develop procedures, including material, labor resources, and equipment/tools.
- Provides Training and Mentoring: Coach subordinates and peers.
- Intermediate Mechanical Level Skills: Fixed and rotating equipment (automotive or similar, may be acceptable).
- Basic Mathematical Skills: Required for troubleshooting, testing, and repairing existing equipment.
- Valid State Driver's License: Required for company vehicle operation.
- Experience with Troubleshooting: Testing and repairing existing fixed and rotating equipment required.
- Ability to Work Alone: In all types of weather.
Three years of construction or automotive mechanical experience or experience in the petroleum or petrochemical industry is preferred.
Education LevelA minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Preferred EducationTrade school or journeyman/craftsman training is recommended, and a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Required Skills- Knowledge of Petroleum Industry Operations: Craft knowledge required.
- Intermediate-Level Leadership: Interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Effective Communication: Written and verbal communication skills required.
- Basic Reading and Writing Skills: Basic-level mathematical calculations required.

- Knowledge of Safe Work Practices: Computer skills necessary to operate assigned maintenance systems.
- Ability to Lead and Train: A small group of employees.
- Multi-Tasking and Team Orientation: Skills required.
Rotating shifts may be required. Able to work a 10-12-hour shift if needed, mostly on your feet. Maintenance and/or Operations experience within an industrial environment is desired, as positions may also assist other contractor employees. Office and field-based and with up to 5% by land and air required. The petroleum industry, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver-based environment include but are not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. Periodic overtime is required. Required to respond to plant-related emergencies and be available after hours during critical business situations. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.
Physical RequirementsJob conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, climbing up to 200ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted) and strenuous physical activity.
