Ultrasound Technician Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations to aid in patient diagnosis under the guidance of a physician. Ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to medical protocols and guidelines, they produce high-quality diagnostic images.

This role requires proficiency in various ultrasound techniques and equipment, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient identity, orders, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Utilize proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality diagnostic exams.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform any exam on all ages of patients (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) using appropriate protocol and following ACR guidelines.
  • Maintain proficiency on all clinical equipment within the department.
  • Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams, following ACR guidelines while producing maximum diagnostic information in minimal time.
  • Follow appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and charging; obtain consents if necessary, document events, maintain quality, and report equipment failures or problems.
  • Exhibit good safety practices in body substance protection, cleaning of equipment, using proper sterile techniques, and removing expired materials.
  • Thoroughly complete all required documentation, including timestamps and image storage.

Shift Details:

Full-time position requiring 36 hours per week, with night shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), offering shift differential.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry, with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ultrasound experience.
