Position Overview:
Verrus, a prominent player in the gold mining sector, is in search of an Exploration Superintendent to oversee their open-pit mining operations in Nevada. This pivotal role focuses on the assessment of a substantial mineral resource area, utilizing advanced geological methodologies to drive discoveries and support continuous mining activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the exploration team, working in conjunction with technical departments, and enhancing the company's mineral reserves.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage, cultivate, and lead a team of skilled exploration specialists.
- Formulate and execute plans aimed at increasing gold reserves through brownfields exploration initiatives.
- Uphold company standards regarding safety, environmental responsibility, and community relations.
- Coordinate efforts with Greenfields and Mine Geology teams.
- Ensure alignment of exploration initiatives with corporate objectives, guaranteeing timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Initiate, assess, and adjust exploration projects as necessary.
- Achieve or surpass established performance metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology is mandatory; a Master's degree in Economic Geology is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams within the mineral exploration field.
- Proven track record of enhancing value through technical and economic evaluations of exploration targets in both brownfields and greenfields.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in exploration activities.
- Strong history of identifying opportunities and executing exploration strategies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional organizational, administrative, and technical writing capabilities.
