Job Title: Teacher

Erie Neighborhood House is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our team. As a Teacher, you will play a vital role in promoting early education in our most needed communities.

Job Summary:

The Teacher will partner with the classroom teaching team to actively facilitate the education, care, and general development of the children following DCFS licensing, NAEYC, and Head Start performance standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement developmentally and culturally appropriate lesson plans in collaboration with the classroom team.
  • Work with the classroom team to effectively manage the classroom environment and promote positive interactions among children, families, and staff.
  • Facilitate lesson plans in cooperation with the classroom team and promote recognition, acceptance, and positive interactions among children, families, and staff.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Illinois Gateways ECE credential level 4 or Infant Toddler credential level 3.
  • Bilingual/bicultural Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Criminal, Child Abuse and Neglect, and Sex Offender background checks are mandatory.

  • Compensation of $17.38 - $19.36 AN HOUR, based on experience.
