Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team as a PRN (as-needed) nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and provide education and support as needed.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and scientific judgment to make decisions about patient care, prioritizing tasks and modifying care plans as necessary.
- Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provide supervision as needed, ensuring that patient care is delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including medical records and other relevant information.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with a valid compact RN license in the state of New Hampshire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year of hire.
- National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification within 1 year of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 3 months of hire.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification within 45 days of hire.
