Your Role:

We are seeking a skilled Marine Outboard Mechanic to support our Southeast Region Port Operations. This role is based at our advanced Regional Boat Maintenance Center. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting maintenance and repairs on marine engines, utilizing both hand and power tools along with technical manuals.
  • Regularly inspecting and testing engine equipment to identify issues.
  • Working on various outboard engines, specifically from manufacturers like Honda and Yamaha, up to 250HP.

Key Qualifications:

  • Possess the necessary tools and expertise to maintain, service, diagnose, and repair Yamaha and Honda outboards.
  • Ability to address issues related to boat steering mechanisms and propellers.
  • Effectively manage multiple work orders with appropriate prioritization.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and quality in work.
  • Exhibit professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
  • Work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Utilize computer diagnostic tools for various marine engine applications.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical accessories in boats, including bilge pumps and charging systems.
  • Possess boat handling skills and assist in the hauling, launching, loading, and unloading of boats.
  • Show a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Have personal tools suitable for the position.

The role involves light to moderate physical demands, and you will work in various settings including office spaces, piers, and aboard vessels.
