Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at our Preschool Program in Queens. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong background in speech and language therapy.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language assessment and evaluation to determine student's developmental level and needs.
  • Plan and conduct speech and language interventions in accordance with established goals.
  • Implement testing procedures to evaluate and monitor student progress as required by appropriate regulatory agency.
  • Assess oral motor development and ability to intake food orally.
  • Develop a treatment plan appropriate to identified disabilities.
  • Keep abreast of latest alternative communication techniques.
  • Implement appropriate utilization of AAC devices.
  • Provide in-service training regarding utilization of AAC devices and techniques.
  • Maintain daily and monthly attendance records and progress notes.
  • Provide therapy progress reports to parents/guardians and appropriate team members.
  • Meet and communicate with parents/guardians regularly in writing or verbally.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences as required.
  • Ensure individuals receive services appropriate to their needs and consistent with educational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Initial Evaluation and Intake processes.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide supervision to students and CFY's as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • One year of prior Speech Therapy experience preferred.
  • Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency required.
  • NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of hearing (TSHH) is mandated.
  • Spanish-Speaking Preferred.
