Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team at U-Haul. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to handle and move materials safely and efficiently
  • Receive, store, and ship materials through the assembly plant, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Keep workstations loaded with production materials, ensuring a smooth production process
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as hand trucks and pallet jacks, to move materials as needed
  • Understand, support, and implement company policies and procedures related to housekeeping, safety, and quality
Requirements
  • Regular attendance is essential
  • Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift is required, with prior certification or ability to pass our forklift test
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to pass print reading, measurement, and fraction/decimal conversion tests
Work Environment

This role involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

The work requires some physical exertion, including long periods of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
