We are seeking an experienced Auto Detailer to join our team at Stemper Auto Body in Madison, South Dakota. As an Auto Detailer, you will be responsible for detailing vehicles according to customer specifications. This includes shampooing carpets and upholstery, vacuuming floors and seats, and cleaning the trunk or rear hatch area.

Our ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and possess good communication skills. You will work closely with our team to provide top-notch service to our customers. If you're a motivated individual who takes pride in their work, we encourage you to apply.

Salary: $14-$18 per hour depending on experience

Job Description:

  • Use various types of cleaning equipment and solutions
  • Detail vehicle according to customer's specific instructions
  • Shampoo carpets and upholstery
  • Vacuum floors and seats
  • Clean and vacuum the trunk or rear hatch area
  • Clean out ashtrays and cup holders
  • Condition vinyl and leather
  • Clean all trash, debris, and dirt from the interior of the vehicle
  • Use special foams and detergents designed for specific types of microfibers
  • Polish the dashboard, steering wheel, trims, and moldings inside the vehicle
  • Clean door frames and instrument panels
  • Clean all dirt, grease, and tar from the exterior of the vehicle
  • Recondition the vehicle's exterior
  • Clean all glass on the vehicle, inside and out, with the appropriate type of rag and cleaning solution
  • Do rock chip repairs when needed
  • Clean all mirrors with the proper substance
  • Remove grease from the engine and other parts under the hood
  • Wax and buff vehicle after washing
  • Polish the exterior chrome and all trim on the exterior of the vehicle using special chrome cleaners
  • Use air compressors and special equipment to dry the inside and outside surfaces
  • Apply chemicals to surfaces to protect against spots and stains
  • Use various paints, waxes, and dyes to protect the leather part of the vehicle's interior
  • Use hoses and pumps for washing and rinsing vehicles
  • Dry floor mats
  • Clean and polish wheel rims and make them sparkle
  • Clean the headlights, brake lights, and taillights making them brighter
  • Fix minor scratches and chips with touch-up vehicle paint
  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and other essential items
  • Keep records and complete checklists on every vehicle
