The Facilities Maintenance Lead supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing and coordinating the activities of personnel involved in the setup, installation, repair, and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and inventory through the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:


Assists the Maintenance Manager in guiding staff in the upkeep and repair of operational systems within the facility, including refrigeration, electrical systems, air and piping, PLC, filling, packaging, and ancillary equipment.

Leads teams in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.


Conducts repairs or replacements of faulty components and performs lubrication and cleaning as necessary, adhering to quality system practices in food and beverage manufacturing.

Monitors and aids in the procurement of supplies and spare parts.


Evaluates and supervises work environments, inspects tools and equipment, and provides safety training to prevent and address unsafe conditions or procedural violations.


Responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager with the Preventative Maintenance Program, developing maintenance schedules, assigning tasks, and tracking the completion of preventative maintenance activities.

Reviews work orders to establish schedules, sequences, and task assignments based on priority, equipment quantity, and personnel skills.

Encourages, develops, and directs team members while assessing their performance.

Assists in formulating work procedures and schedules to fulfill production requirements.

Proposes improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality while enforcing safety regulations.

Recommends adjustments in working conditions and equipment usage to boost departmental efficiency.

Assists the Maintenance Manager in resolving operational challenges.

Identifies and addresses issues promptly and communicates changes effectively.

Involves relevant personnel in decision-making and supports reasoning behind decisions.

Manages competing priorities and adapts methods to suit varying situations.

Effectively handles frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events and maintains composure under pressure.

Communicates clearly and informatively in both written and verbal forms.

Capable of interpreting written information and presenting numerical data effectively.

Demonstrates precision and thoroughness while generating suggestions for work improvements.

Adheres to policies and procedures, utilizing equipment and materials appropriately.

Observes safety and security protocols and reports potential hazards.

Strives for accuracy and thoroughness, completing tasks in a timely manner.

Commits to continuous learning and skill development.

Consistently punctual and dedicated to working extended hours when necessary to achieve objectives.

Supervisory Duties:

Assists in supervising a team of 9-11 hourly employees within the Maintenance Department. Executes management responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and relevant laws.

Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, and training personnel; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing concerns and resolving issues.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or a minimum of three years of relevant experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Technical Skills:


To excel in this position, an individual should possess knowledge of and proficiency in using Internet software; Inventory management software; Project Management tools; Maintenance Software (Maintenance Connection), Spreadsheet applications (Excel), Word Processing software (Word), and Email Software (Office 365).
