Role Summary:The HR Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding support and service to both employees and management by facilitating the daily functions of HR operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and recruit new talent in alignment with organizational needs, which includes crafting job postings, conducting interviews, extending job offers, performing background checks, and managing new hire documentation.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring compliance with I-9 regulations.
- Facilitate orientation sessions for new hires.
- Act as a primary contact for HR-related questions, including benefits inquiries.
- Maintain comprehensive employee records in both physical and electronic formats within the HRIS.
- Manage payroll processing and related reporting tasks.
- Coordinate employee benefit events and assist in training initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with business partners to address challenges and resolve conflicts in a proactive and innovative manner.
- Provide support for employee relations matters.
- Stay informed about current HR practices and trends, including FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, STD, and LTD.
- Handle all benefit-related transactions in various carrier systems and ensure accurate data entry in the HRIS.
- Assist in performance management processes.
- Complete exit interviews and termination documentation.
- Support the HR Manager with various research and special projects.
- Report new hires to the appropriate state department.
- Assist management with employee disciplinary actions and counseling documentation.
- Provide employment and income verification for staff.
- Enroll employees in STD, LTD, and Life Insurance programs.
- Prepare benefits reports for partners.
- Process changes in employee status and salary adjustments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and employment equity regulations.
- Proficient in HR administration and personnel management.
- Understanding of payroll processes.
- Clear grasp of HR functions and best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- A collaborative team player committed to quality and accuracy, with the ability to engage with diverse groups.
- Strong computer proficiency, including email, MS Office, and HRIS.
