Aquatic Educator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Hartford.

Job Description:

• Instruct swimming lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, following the YMCA of the USA and YMCA of Greater Hartford Swim Lessons Program Guidelines.
• Bulk and build effective relationships with students and parents, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate information about aquatics programs and schedules, and refer students and parents to other relevant programs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and other important data.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, and adhere to all YMCA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Organize and maintain pool equipment, and report any damaged or missing items.
• Supervise class aides as assigned, and provide lesson plans for substitutes when necessary.
• Promote the YMCA mission and demonstrate character development principles to all members.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current YMCA swim instructor certificate or equivalent, CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification (infant, child, and adult), Oxygen Admin and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrate maturity, responsibility, positive values, and a genuine interest in working with people.

Salary Estimate:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
