Janitorial Specialist Job Overview

Required Skills:

• Fundamental understanding of cleaning duties and maintenance responsibilities
• Familiarity with cleaning machinery including vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, and floor finish applicators
• Awareness of cleaning methodologies and procedures, including the properties and applications of various cleaning, sanitizing, and waxing agents
• Experience in the sanitation of restrooms and common areas
• Ability to emphasize workplace safety, adhere to safety protocols, practice safe work habits, and report hazardous conditions to the appropriate supervisor
• Capable of reading, comprehending, and following measurement units on product labels
• Proven ability to maintain cleaning equipment in a hygienic, safe, and functional state

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts assigned cleaning tasks, which include but are not limited to general cleaning (restrooms, offices, break rooms, etc.), buffing, scrubbing, and executing basic cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping using equipment like scrubbers and extractors
• Operates floor care machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning in a safe manner, adhering to proper operational guidelines
• Completes all tasks in accordance with safety standards, company policies, and management directives
• Adheres to all company regulations regarding safety, customer service, appropriate attire, and work conditions
• Completes assignments as per the company schedule and meets customer expectations
• Executes janitorial tasks based on established work scopes and customer requests, following published schedules and guidelines

• Completes all assigned tasks as instructed
• Operates within established safety guidelines and company policies
• Follows all company protocols regarding safety, customer service, and work conditions
• Meets assignment deadlines according to the company schedule

Essential Job Functions:

• Physical capability to manually lift, carry, push, or pull heavy materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Daily repetitive motions may include bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and squatting
• Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching into various areas
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods, including climbing and descending stairs and ladders
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Consistent and reliable attendance is required
