Job DescriptionEssential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
  • Office Visits: Greet patients, prepare them for exams, and explain treatment procedures, medications, and physicians' instructions.
  • Administer medications, including injections and IV therapy, as needed and within the scope of licensure.
  • Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as wound dressing, catheterizations, and applying compresses.
  • Collect, label, and process specimens accurately.
  • Clean and prepare medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
  • Assemble and use equipment appropriate to specific medical practices.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and communicate delays effectively.
  • Manage delivery of medications and maintain proper documentation.
Charting:
  • Enter patient information into the computer accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage the physician's desktop accurately and efficiently.
Miscellaneous:
  • Provide clerical support, including making appointments, booking procedures, and answering telephones.
  • Manage medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of LPN school program
  • Current licensure as LPN in state of New York and/or Connecticut
  • IV and/or phlebotomy skills preferred
