Job Summary:The Progressive Care Unit RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment. This role will involve utilizing computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting any changes and enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Basic Bedside Care: Stabilize critical cardiac patients and provide basic care to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.
- Perform Medical Procedures: Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
- Administer Medication: Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Monitor and Adjust Equipment: Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
- Initiate Corrective Action: Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
- Experience: 2 years of experience as a Progressive Care Unit RN
