The **Registered Nurse Charge Nurse** plays a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive top-notch care that enhances their overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This position is pivotal in implementing tailored care plans based on individual assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular rounds to observe, assess, document, and report on resident conditions and any changes.
- Ensure that care plans are executed as directed.
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with physicians during rounds and maintain accurate clinical records of visits.
- Perform narcotic reconciliations during shift changes.
- Identify and respond to significant changes in residents' conditions according to facility protocols.
- Supervise and support nursing aides in their duties.
- Complete Incident and Accident Reports as per facility guidelines.
- Manage resident discharges in accordance with established policies.
- Conduct Nursing Assessments prior to contacting physicians regarding changes in resident conditions.
- Communicate effectively with residents' points of contact regarding status updates or changes in condition.
- Participate in special projects or additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nurses or Administrator.
Educational Requirements: Completion of an accredited RN program from a vocational school, college, or university.
Licensing: Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in Texas with a good standing.
Experience: Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
