Job Summary

Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facility Operator to join our team. As a Facility Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our asphalt production facility, maintaining high-quality products, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Quality Control: Assist with testing products in the laboratory, input quality specifications and batch data into reports, and sample product quality to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Facility Operations: Load and unload trucks and railcars, conduct minor maintenance on equipment in the plant, and ensure good facility housekeeping.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in daily production/quality/EHS meetings, utilize proactive tools, and effectively communicate with fellow operators, management, and customers to meet needs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Wear provided PPE, stay current on required training, and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Excel (preferred)
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Basic math skills (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to learn computer skills
  • Able to lift 50 pounds with assistance and perform jobs that involve lifting, bending, climbing tanks and other structures
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to work days and hours as scheduled, Monday through Sunday
  • Outdoor work in all seasons
