Cargo Handler

Job Summary:

Forward Air is seeking a skilled Cargo Handler to join our team. As a Cargo Handler, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight on our trailers in a safe and timely manner. This role requires frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight. All necessary training and materials for this position are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

\u2022 Load and unload 53 ft. commercial trailers
\u2022 Operate scanners to track and maneuver freight
\u2022 Accurately label boxes and prepare freight for shipment
\u2022 Safely load and unload trailers using equipment such as hand trucks/pallet jacks and forklifts
\u2022 Obtain certification and safely operate forklift and other machinery as required
\u2022 Verify documentation and condition of freight to ensure quality standards are achieved
\u2022 Frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds
\u2022 Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Requirements and Qualifications:

\u2022 Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
\u2022 Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
\u2022 Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed
\u2022 Forklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plus
\u2022 Must be 18 or older
