Legal Aid of Northwest Texas is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support the Statewide Expunction Project. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to multiple full-time staff attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general secretarial support, including preparing legal documents, correspondence, and filing.
- Ensure compliance with Legal Services Corporation Act and regulations, as well as LANWT's policies and procedures.
- Accurately maintain case status through electronic case management system.
- Translate for clients who speak a different language than their advocate (if applicable).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Attorney, Deputy Director, and Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Fluent in Spanish - both verbal and written.
- Prior law office experience in the capacity of secretarial support is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills with use of Microsoft products preferred.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all duties.
