Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in a clinical area
  • Work under the direction of a clinic nurse
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
  • Accept responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of one's own work
  • Work independently and recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality
  • Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress, and/or grief

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program required
  • Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required
  • Currently certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment
