As a key member of the Mainframe Automation team, this role is dedicated to enhancing the design and efficiency of our automation development, integrating various platforms such as Envision X, AIR, and Sidekick, while also focusing on the architectural design of multiple systems including Automation Point, OPS/MVS, zOSMF, Zowe, and Ansible.

1. Leverage extensive system knowledge and project management expertise to architect automation solutions across diverse platforms.
2. Develop engineering solutions that align tool capabilities with business needs, ensuring an exceptional client experience.
3. Identify and create solutions that minimize or eliminate manual intervention, allowing teams to concentrate on problem management by automating responses to specific alerts.
4. Deliver solutions utilizing agile development methodologies.
5. Evaluate and analyze the performance of existing tools to pinpoint gaps and opportunities, ensuring proactive issue detection before they escalate into significant incidents.
Ideal Candidate Profile
To thrive in this position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Qualifications
- Proficiency in software development and programming, including writing and documenting code.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, REXX, Cobol, and Assembler.

- Knowledge of code hosting platforms for version control, such as GitHub.
- Understanding of software development issue tracking and agile project management tools like Jira or Bugzilla (Scrum and Kanban methodologies).
- Experience with mainframe operating systems and their components, specifically z/OS and MVS.
- Knowledge of software packaging and distribution processes.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT operations management (ITOM) principles.
- Understanding of the ITIL framework and DevOps principles.
