Job Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a critical role within Christus Health, responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. This position requires a high level of professionalism and adherence to departmental protocols to provide accurate diagnostic images for patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Adhere to standards for radiation safety and for appropriate waste separation and disposal of radioactive agents by performing specific tasks mandated by Federal, State, and Hospital policies.
  • Document daily all calibrations and flood films for all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, Dose Calibrator accuracy check, Hot Lab area survey, dispensed pharmaceuticals, and radioactive source disposal.
  • Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, as prescribed by the Physician, by adhering to established procedures.
  • Perform periodic quality control tests, documenting according to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required, 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting preferred.
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current State Licensure required, Current BLS (American Heart Association) required, Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
