About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Meat Department Leader to join our team at Wegmans. As a leader in the Meat Department, you'll be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Merchandising and Visual Presentation: Focus on maintaining company standards regarding merchandising, highlighting the quality, freshness, and uniqueness of products.
  • Team Development and Customer Engagement: Use your passion and knowledge to educate team members and customers on product offerings, proactively approach customers to answer questions, help locate items, and offer suggestions to complete their meals.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the Meat Department operates efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 or more years of work experience in a retail or food service environment, or a college degree in a related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading a team in a retail or food service environment.
  • Product Knowledge: Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products, including meats, poultry, and seafood.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and subject matters.
