Position: Reliability Engineer
Location: Decatur, IL
As a Reliability Engineer, you will have the chance to enhance your skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment. You will encounter a variety of challenges, technologies, and processes that will allow you to contribute significantly to both process enhancements and capital project execution.
Your professional growth will be supported by collaboration with experienced colleagues in a team-oriented atmosphere. As you develop your skills and experience, your responsibilities and influence will expand.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Engineering Focus:
- Enable equipment maintainability by providing parts lists, repair and inspection procedures, and methods to support Maintenance Planners and Skilled Trades.
- Engage daily with Plant and Area Maintenance Teams.
- Develop and enhance Equipment Inspection Plans and Predictive Monitoring to identify service wear and potential failure conditions promptly.
- Gain and apply in-depth technical knowledge of Plant Equipment through manuals, specifications, and OEM interactions.
- Translate technical information into clear, actionable documents for Planners and Skilled Tradesmen.
Reliability Engineering Focus:
- Prevent equipment failures, downtime, and costs by improving the reliability of critical equipment and systems.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing process systems reliability.
- Develop and execute small to medium-scale reliability-focused capital expenditure projects.
- Oversee asset care strategies and lubrication, predictive maintenance technology, and application programs.
- Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of Plant Equipment Standards.
- Provide reliability support for new capital equipment and its integration into asset structures and care plans.
- Utilize feedback from job execution to refine procedures, task sequencing, and inspection criteria.
- Deliver engineering solutions for component and equipment obsolescence.
- Manage execution metrics criteria and generation methods for operational and maintenance team use.
- Maintain the technical information repository for equipment.
- Assist in capital project equipment selection and spare part alignment with existing standards.
About You:
We seek engineers who are committed to excellence and eager for increased responsibilities. You should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Plant Maintenance and Reliability Engineering or a similar technical role.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
- Experience in organizing and implementing projects that enhance operational effectiveness.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and predictive maintenance technologies.
- A solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of control systems and their integration with mechanical assets.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in continuous industrial processing is preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP Maintenance or other EAM/CMMS systems.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or a related engineering field.
