We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Surgical Specialist to join our team at Mayo Clinic - 201 West Center Street. About the Role

This position requires a strong foundation in surgical assisting, with a focus on providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a multi-specialty perioperative setting, with a proven ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients, including preparing them for surgery and ensuring their comfort and well-being after the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment plans, communicating effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless coordination of care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree from a recognized Surgical Assistant Program, with relevant operating room experience within the past 3 years.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
