Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a skilled Perfusionist to join our team. As a Perfusionist, you will be responsible for assembling, operating, and disassembling the heart lung machine within the safe scope of established clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, operate, and disassemble the heart lung machine within the safe scope of established clinical practice.
- Adhere to Department Guidelines and safety procedures.
- Perform as part of a team and work under variable schedules and hours.
- Set up and operate ECMO's, LVAD's, Cell Savers, and all available perfusion devices.
- Manage patient parameters within the accepted safe ranges of established clinical practice.
- Perform patient charting and maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and completion of an accredited school of perfusion.
- Eligibility to take the certification examination of the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or currently a CCP in good standing.
- Certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCPERF) preferred.
Work Environment:
Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
The Perfusionist must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and have good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
Personal Protective Equipment:
The Perfusionist must follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
