Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nutritionist to join our Community Health Promotion Team at Clay County Public Health Center. As a Nutritionist, you will play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and providing nutrition education to our community members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all nutrition and breastfeeding services provided to participants, ensuring that they receive accurate and timely information.
  • Provide breastfeeding education and support to all participants, completing a breastfeeding assessment and providing proper counseling and support in accordance with WIC regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement participant-centered nutrition education and counseling programs for high-risk participants, completing high-risk care plans and documenting nutrition education contacts.
  • Participate in conducting studies and surveys to improve nutrition education materials and services.
  • Recommend improvements to nutrition education materials and services, ensuring that they are culturally appropriate and relevant to our community members.
  • Process client vouchers and maintain accurate records of participant information.
  • Act as the Breastfeeding Coordinator if assigned by the local WIC provider, providing leadership and guidance to team members.
  • Proactively provide feedback for improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, cost savings, productivity, systems, and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in public health nutrition, dietetics, nutrition, food science, home economics, or a closely related field, including or supplemented by at least 15 semester hours in foods and nutrition, including one or more courses in diet therapy and community nutrition.
  • Registration or current eligibility for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration may be accepted in lieu of other specified qualifications.
  • Two years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
  • A current driver's license and auto insurance are required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain professional liability insurance and successfully complete state required training within the designated timeframe.
