  • As a vital member of the healthcare team, Respiratory Therapists operate under the guidance of the Respiratory Care Manager and the lead therapist. They deliver essential therapeutic, supportive, and monitoring services to patients, following physician directives and departmental protocols throughout various hospital settings. The Respiratory Therapist Level 2 (RT2) is expected to have a minimum of one year of professional experience in respiratory care, along with the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and a valid State of Maine license. A comprehensive understanding of cardiopulmonary conditions, respiratory diagnostic methods, treatment strategies, and equipment management for chronic, acute, and emergency situations is essential. Proficiency in patient evaluation and clinical data interpretation is also required. External candidates meeting all qualifications may be considered for the RT2 position.
  • Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Not applicable
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must possess and maintain RRT certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners. Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required, with ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital setting is required.
