Overview

As a Patient Care Associate at Mercy, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care under the direction of our registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the individualized care of patients, promoting their highest level of wellness and comfort.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
  • Assist with medication administration and documentation
  • Participate in patient education and support
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience required; Mercy provides a 175-hour training program for new hires in the state of Missouri
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within one month of hire
  • Completion of PCA competencies within three months of hire
Preferred Qualifications

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is highly desirable.
