A Day in the Life of a Clinical Nurse Specialist
As a vital member of our healthcare team, your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing nursing practices based on the latest evidence-based research and established standards to guarantee safe and effective patient care.
- Maintaining clear communication with patients, fellow nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient conditions, care provided, and treatment strategies.
- Administering medications using advanced bar-scanning technology to enhance the safety of medication delivery.
- Conducting ongoing electronic documentation of patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations.
- Providing education to patients and their families to promote health, wellness, and effective disease management.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient discharges and continuity of care.
- Possessing a valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is essential.
- Obtaining BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of employment.
- ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of nursing experience is required, or participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
- Two years of experience in Emergency nursing is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Demonstrating the ability to quickly adapt to changing patient needs, a strong commitment to improving patient and caregiver experiences, and a focus on teamwork and continuous education are crucial.
