Job Title: Quality Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team at Actalent. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products by performing various quality control checks and tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform periodic in-process quality checks, including physical and chemical lab testing, coding, weight, packaging integrity, labeling, temperature, sensory, document review, and data entry.
  • Inspect and sample incoming ingredients for internal lab testing and assist in drafting, revising, and maintaining plant standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in plant food safety/quality inspections, in-process inspections, mock recall, label audits, and HACCP audits.
  • Verify proper set-up of production lines at start-up and shift change, including printer set-up, packaging materials, labeling, quality limits, etc.
  • Perform investigative environmental swabbing of critical production equipment/areas as a troubleshooting guide.
  • Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or other quality-related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories.
  • Ensure lab equipment, refrigerators, and thermometers are properly maintained and calibrated, and maintain and follow MFI micro sample and shelf-life study programs.
  • Perform sample delivery to Micro Lab and to other NJ MFI plants and adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year experience in quality testing, preferably in the food industry.
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement skills a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
