Machinist Technician

At J.R. MERRITT CONTROLS INC, we are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our production team. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating CNC milling machines, lathes, and manual mills and lathes to produce precision parts to close tolerances.

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality parts.
• Create fixtures to increase productivity and reduce setup times for team members.
• Machining of parts needed for the current week's production schedule in a timely and effective manner.
• Machining of custom parts from stock using manual and Proto Trak CNC machines.
• Builds and repairs machine shop tools.
• Performs necessary calculations and correct interpretation of prints and drawings.
• Input and recommendations for new designs and product upgrades/improvements.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Academic background, special training, and experience in designing and machining parts.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of complicated mathematics, English, and Metric units of measure.
• Skilled in the use and programming of Proto Trak CNC machines and manual lathes, mills, and other manufacturing machines and equipment.
• Skilled in the use of special hand, standard tools, precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
