Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team on a night shift basis. As a Laborer, you will assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties and perform tasks that require physical labor at construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist craftsman in setting up work as required.
  • Follow instructions given by superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
  • Perform all required duties with a focus on safety.
  • Keep work areas clean and in orderly conditions.
  • Read and understand warning signs, operating instructions for equipment, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
  • Learn to observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or a related area.
  • Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Working Conditions

The person in this position will constantly move about a construction/industrial site, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. They will work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.

This is a night position with an extra $1 for shift differential pay. The candidate will work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required. They may be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffolds to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so they must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

The candidate must be able to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces. They must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment. They may be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction/industrial site.

They must observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required, and be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical.
