Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting donations and merchandise to our thrift store locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a pre-scheduled route to pick up donations and deliver merchandise to customers and clients
  • Load and unload a variety of merchandise, including furniture, bedding, appliances, and household items
  • Assist in using lifts, dollies, and other equipment for heavy items, as well as safety belts to prevent personal injury
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, observing all rules of the road and those established by management
  • Be cognizant of the vehicle and its personnel as ambassadors of goodwill and a moving billboard for St. Vincent de Paul CARES
  • Perform daily logs and adhere to the truck maintenance schedule
Requirements
  • Able to speak, write, and understand English
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff, and volunteers
  • Flexible work schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to set appropriate limits, work under deadlines, and multi-task
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, self-motivate, and deliver results
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Possess strong work ethics
  • Valid Florida driver's license, if driving an agency vehicle or a personal vehicle for company business
  • Must have reliable transportation
