Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Janitorial Assistant to join our team at Ahtna. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our office building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow established cleaning procedures and protocols to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Report any fires, hazardous conditions, or items in need of repair to the facilities manager.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks, including emptying and cleaning wastebaskets, cleaning and disinfecting water fountains, replenishing supplies, and spot cleaning.
  • Vacuum all carpets, sweep and mop all hard floors, wipe clean all window blinds and sills, and shampoo carpets.
  • Strip, scrub, rinse, wax, buff, and seal floors as needed.
  • High dust and clean all surfaces and equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in housekeeping, sanitation, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
Work Environment

The work environment is an office building setting. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. Considerable reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
